It is important to bear in mind that it is never too late to solve a low-frequency EMF problem.

Therefore, if you have already designed and implemented a product or facility and you realize that it is not adequately shielded and needs more efficient and high-performance electromagnetic shielding, you can turn to an outside consultant who can help you find a solution.

One of the most frequent problems that can occur after the project is completed can definitely be non-compliance with electromagnetic compatibility standards.

Electromagnetic incompatibility and how to solve it

Electromagnetic compatibility is governed by the European Parliament’s Directive 2014/30/EU and the Council of February 26th, 2014, which establishes uniform standards to regulate the manufacture and sale in the EU of equipment that does not generate significant electromagnetic disturbances and still functions when electromagnetic disturbances occur.

In fact, electromagnetic compatibility is defined as:

The suitability of a piece of equipment to operate in its electromagnetic environment satisfactorily and without producing, in other equipment and in the same environment, unacceptable electromagnetic disturbances.

It may happen that, after the project is completed and during compatibility testing, issues emerge that need to be resolved promptly so that an electric vehicle can travel safely, or the operation of a device is not adversely affected by interference.

Compared to managing the shielding of a new product or system from the outset, finding an EMC solution after the project is completed requires more time, specific expertise, and an effective shielding material.

  1. Time is a crucial factor: the solution usually needs to be found quickly, but consultants need time to understand the project and study its characteristics.
  2. Specific problems require specific expertise in electromagnetic shielding (EMC).
  3. The shielding material must be more effective than traditional materials.

A shielding solution that fits the product and the issue

Field experience combined with SKUDOTECH® shielding technology developed in our laboratories have enabled us to solve many problems related to meeting compliance requirements.

In fact, one of the strengths of SKUDOTECH® is its “adaptability,” because it fits any project at any stage of development.

The specificity and frequency of “post-project” requests have become a real area of application for Selite, which we have called Adaptive Shielding: by this concept we mean the process of electromagnetic shielding for existing products, structures or components that need more effective EMC shielding.

If you have completed a project but have the need and urgency to solve a low-frequency electromagnetic emission problem, we are ready to work with you to find a solution.
